DR. PETER NAIK LAKAVATH – AN INSPIRATIONAL LIFE

Founder, Chairman & Director – Peter Naik Charitable Trust

“Poverty is not a barrier… it becomes the path towards success.”

Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath was born on March 13, 1971, in Champla Thanda, within Gorrelapadu Thanda of Kusumanchi Mandal, Khammam District, Telangana State, South India to parents Lakavath Matya Naik and Masuru Bai. From an early age, he grew up in an economically disadvantaged family and rose through life by battling poverty.

Due to their financial struggles, his parents sent young Peter to work as a child laborer in others’ homes. Though the task was tough, he went happily, embracing the challenges. For six years, he worked as a domestic helper, gaining deep lessons in hard work, patience, and the values of life.

When Dr. Peter fell seriously ill, his parents made every effort to cure him, investing both money and effort. Unfortunately, despite all their attempts, his health did not improve.

On June 6, 1994, Dr. Peter decided to move to Hyderabad. His parents gave him only Rs. 150 for bus fare. With that meager amount, he embarked on his journey to an unfamiliar Hyderabad and joined a Christian missionary organization, through which he rendered exceptional service to society.

During his journey, Dr. Peter led a simple, disciplined, and committed life. Whatever responsibilities he was entrusted with, he accepted them with joy, respecting his elders and learning valuable life lessons along the way.

He served for 24 years (1994–2018) in various roles within the Christian missionary organization: as a trainee, field worker, web monitor, field coordinator, area field coordinator, and state tribal mission coordinator.

He made significant contributions in several locations such as Chinthakani in Khammam, Parsapur in Maddur Mandal (Mahbubnagar), Madapur and Begumpet in Kandukur Mandal (Ranga Reddy), Balaji Nagar in Secunderabad, Pulimadugu in Utnoor Mandal (Adilabad), Ghattuppal, Chandur mandal, Nalgonda district, Dharma Thanda, Sansthan Narayanpur, Kadapagandi Thanda, Porlagadda Thanda, Radhanagar Thanda, Dubbagadda Thanda, Dhaka Thanda, Rekhya Thanda, Korra Thanda, Dubba Thanda, Marribai Thanda, Keloth Thanda, Vachya Thanda, Vankadoth Thanda, Kadeli Bai Thanda, Loyapalli Thanda of Manchala Mandal of Rangareddy District, Bodakonda Thanda, Sitya Thanda, Angoth Thanda, Yellamma Thanda, Shivannaguda, Nalgonda District and Ichoda Mandal in Adilabad. In March 2018, he left Vishwa Vani Christian Organization.

In 2022, he established Peter Naik Charitable Trust. Alongside actively participating in social services, he also raised his voice against the violation of human rights and injustices witnessed in society. Recognising his valuable services, the World Human Rights Protection Commission honored him with an honorary doctorate award.

As the National Vice-President of the World Commission on Human Rights, and as the Founder, Chairman and Director of the Peter Naik Charitable Trust, he is working institutionally, individually and in collaboration with other organizations with the aim of providing social services to the poor in remote areas across India.

At present, driven by deep social consciousness, Dr. Peter stands as a support to the helpless, making his life a model for many and carving out a unique path.

A Life That Never Feared Struggles

The hardships and pain he faced as a child planted big dreams in his heart. Choosing to rise above poverty, he pursued a path of service to society. With education as his weapon, he overcame numerous obstacles and achieved great success.
