Preserving Traditions, Honoring Roots

As part of our ongoing efforts to preserve and promote indigenous art forms, the Peter Naik Charitable Trust proudly supported a vibrant Kolatam program in Gorrelapadu Thanda, located in Kusumanchi Mandal, Khammam District. This traditional folk dance event was a joyful celebration of community spirit, culture, and heritage.

The occasion was made even more memorable with the presence of Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath, the founder of the trust and a well-respected social worker, who graced the event as the chief guest. His arrival was met with warm hospitality and heartfelt gratitude from the villagers, who honored him for his enduring commitment to cultural upliftment.

Through generous financial support provided by the Peter Naik Charitable Trust, the Kolatam performers were empowered to showcase their talents and continue the legacy of their ancestral traditions. This support served as a powerful reminder of the importance of nurturing our rural roots and giving a platform to traditional art forms that are often overlooked.

Dr. Peter Naik’s inspiring gesture was not just a donation—it was a reaffirmation of his deep bond with his native village and his dedication to the preservation of rural culture. Village elders and participants expressed profound appreciation for his role in safeguarding the unique identity of their community.

At the Peter Naik Charitable Trust, we believe that culture is the soul of a community. Supporting events like Kolatam is part of our broader mission to ensure that future generations grow up connected to their heritage, proud of their identity, and inspired to carry their traditions forward.
